In 1904 Mr. R.O. Pickens opened Pickens Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. in Spartanburg, SC to focus primarily on roofing and associated metal work because the Upstate was growing at such a fast pace. In 1989, the third generation of the Pickens family saw a need in the Anderson area which led to the opening of Pickens Roofing, Inc. in Anderson, SC. Both companies remained in the Pickens family since their inceptions.

Throughout the years, both Companies have grown in volume, employees, number of services offered, and overall capabilities, but the ability to provide quality and small, family-owned Company service has remained our focus.  

On January 1^st, 2020, Pickens Roofing, Inc. and Pickens Roofing & Sheet Metals, Inc. merged together and subsequently began operating under the new name Pickens Contracting, Inc.  From the beginning, the Pickens family strives to tailor business to meet the needs of the Upstate. Our organization has evolved along with the Upstate and surrounding areas, so that we can offer more than just roofing and sheet metal work and we now have many more capabilities including ACM panel production and installation, all types of commercial siding, rainscreen, residential roofing, and commercial repair services. Our desire was to have the name of our Company reflect our expanding diversification and service offerings.

In order to further unify our organization, we also moved to our new location in Greer, SC (see address at the top of the page) in March of 2020, and have closed our previous locations in Anderson, SC and Spartanburg, SC.  We may have a new name and address, but we still provide the same quality level of focus and attention that we did back in 1904. With over 116 years of experience, we are here to serve the community for any roofing, sheet metal, ACM panel production, ACM panel installation, commercial siding, rainscreen, residential roofing, or commercial repair service needs!
